HIV Screening Materials

The HIV Screening. Standard Care.TM program is intended for primary care physicians (internal medicine and family physicians) and healthcare providers practicing in the United States to adopt HIV screening as a part of routine clinical care. Additionally, tailored materials are available to help medical providers improve HIV outcomes among African American and Hispanic/Latino patients. A suite of program materials can be found below or ordered online.

 

Resource Kits

The HIV Screening. Standard Care.TM program has two segments:  

  • The first segment of the campaign launched in 2010 and is intended for primary care physicians (internal medicine and family physicians) and healthcare providers practicing in the United States to help ensure all patients are tested for HIV at least once in their life.
  • The second segment of the campaign launched in 2012 and is tailored to help providers improve HIV outcomes among African American and Hispanic/Latino patients.

Patient Brochures

This brochure for patients provides information on who is at risk for HIV, ways to prevent HIV, the HIV test, and the recommendation for all patients to receive an HIV test at least once in their life and more frequently if they are at high risk for HIV infection, such as those with multiple sex partners or an HIV-infected partner.

Partner Services Brochures

These brochures for providers and patients provide information on how to inform sex partners about their exposure to HIV using Partner Services. Partner Services is a free resource that can help to ensure that sex partners or drug-injection partners know of their exposure and help them gain early access to testing for HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), counseling, medical care, and treatment to avoid transmitting HIV to others.
